I am trying to setup up an HP Officejet G85xi printer through an Iomega Home Media Network Hard Drive, so that the printer can be shared over the network without requiring that an attached computer be turned on to print. There is a place on the back of the Network Hard Drive to plug in the printer with USB.
Can anyone think of a way of Re-Sharing a Shared Printer? When I connect the shared printers to Server 2008 R2, it comes up as a network printer, and settings take affect on the host (not the server) so I can't Re-Share it.
The reason I need this is I have a number of workstations that run software in which I have to hardcode the printer name.
Hi all,
I am running F17, 3.6.9-2.fc17.i686.PAE and having problem to get my network printer to work. I installed the printer under Application>others>printing, it seems detect my printer over network and allow my to finish the process with correct printer path.
I have a Netgear WNDR4500 wireless router which allows me to print wirelessly to a printer connected to it via a USB cable.
hi All
i am trying to install sharp mx-m425N printer on ubuntu 12.04, i downloaded the drivers from sharp website and installed the printer.
after i give the print command the printing job completes there is no queue but the print does not come out.
I checked the printer queue on printer but there is nothing the request does not reach the printer.
how do i resolve this
I installed a home network printer on my laptop, and could successfully print to it in evince. However, at work I use a remote CUPS server for printing. I added the CUPS server to the print settings of my machine, and the printer from my home network no longer appears there or in other print dialog boxes (such as Chromium).
All right, this is driving me nuts.
I have an HP Color LaserJet cm1312nfi connected to the ethernet jack on a D-Link DPR-1260 wireless usb print server - so the print server acts as a wireless bridge. I can't get any Ubuntu box to print to the LaserJet. Windows XP and Vista laptops on the network print to it just fine.
I re-deployed a printer via group policy after updating the printer drivers on the print server.
On some Windows 7 workstations the drivers could be updated on a printer by right-clicking it --> Update Driver. However most workstations do not offer this function, therefore are stuck with the printer's old driver & printing preferences.
I have an OSX Lion Server(OSX 10.7.5) acting as a CUPS(1.5.4) print server. I've added the network printer(Konica Minolta using Efi Fiery driver) and installed the appropriate drivers on the print server.
The issue I'm having is that when I try to add the shared printer on client device (OSX 10.8.2), the client is unable to download the printer driver.
