Hello, I'm very new to Linux, and I have a Linksys Wireless-G USB Network Adapter,
2.4 GHz, 802.11g.
It hooks up through USB plug, and when I originally plugged it in I got the message that ubuntu didn't support the drivers, but haven't seen it since.
I'm hooked up to a LAN cable right now, and can't seem to figure out how to hook up through wireless with this device.
I tried to install a recent kernal update that got hung up and wouldn't finish so I aborted the update. After that I could no longer use $sudo modprobe b43 to initiate my wireless connection. My strategy is to establish a wired connection, make sure all updates could be installed, and then try to establish the wireless connection again. However, I cannot establish a wired connection.
Iam a newbie to Ubuntu and linux ....
I had install Ubuntu 12.04.1 precise pangolin LTS last month
Had no problems with connectivity , both wired and wireless connections worked ... until recently I happened to install and upgrade the Ubuntu repositories... after restart the wired connection works but my wireless connection is lost completely ... I use a wireless router at home ..
I'm on Ubuntu Maverick (10.10). I've read a few threads regarding wired connection problems, but haven't found a solution yet.
The problem appears after I connect to a wireless network. When I disconnect wireless and plug in an internet cable, the wired connection is not recognized at all.
$ pacman -Si netcfg

I upgraded to Ubuntu 12.10 and it's been a nightmare on my Wireless connections. Was fine with release 12.04. I knew I shouldn't have started chasing rainbows but the hype was too much to pass up :)
I first noticed it with my Droid Razor Hotspot connection ...
Hi all,
Today I did a new install of Fedora 17 on my desktop. It had kernel 3.3 and I had no issues using the wired and wireless connections.
I've just installed ubuntu on my laptop and I'm trying to connect to the wireless network that the other computers in my house are using.
I just recently partitioned a laptop running widows 7 with Fedora 17. The wireless adapter on the computer is a DW1503 Wireless-N Half-Mini card. I am unable to get both wired and wireless connections when I boot to Fedora. When running an ifconfig I can see a p1p1 interface show up, but i'm not sure what that means either. Any Suggestions on what can be done?
