I've posted this before and searched for the solution but still nothing.
I'm using a Lenovo G570 laptop installed with Ubuntu Precise Pangolin 12.04 64-bit beta2. The wireless modem that I use, Capitel CDMA EVDO 3G modem (device id - 1c9e:9e00) does not get detected in 12.04. Hence I cannot configure it from Network Manager.
Hello everyone
i bought a modem (huawei K3565) and I cant get it to work. the problem seems weird and on betavine.net I found a couple of people who are having the same problem but no one really came up with a solution to it.
I will try to describe the problem step by step.
In Ubuntu 12.10 USB-modem Huawei 171 from MTS is not connected to the network. First on the message "Are you registered on the network", immediately after that, "You are disconnected from the network." This happened after there was an internal error notification Ubuntu. I did not pay attention, and closed by sending the report. After the reboot does not work. Settings are not changed.
Hello do let me know on how to let Ubuntu autodetect a MTS Mblaze USB modem without having to restart Ubuntu. Every time i plug in, i would only have to restart my Ubuntu to make the modem work. I have also tried restarting some services such networking, network-interface & network-manager.
well here goes
i have a dell inspiron which i bravely converted to ubuntu,OK for spreadsheets, word docs and worked fine with a dongle
come the end of the season i plugs in the speedtouch modem, for the first time and it don't want to play at all.
i download the driver package, the firmware extractor and then find i need the "idiots guide to Linux"
I'm writing this post, even though it is "SOLVED" before I write it in hopes that someone else looking for an answer will be able to save some time. It took lots of searching, and gathering information from different sources (unfortunately, I didn't keep a list) to put together the solution.
I am using Ubuntu very recently. My DSL connection with the modem is working fine but after certain idle time the modem connection is getting disconnected and I am not getting the icons to reconnect. If I go to System Settings--> Network, it is showing "Network cable is unplugged". It works fine if i reboot. This is a sudden problem and no configuration has been altered.
I have Ubuntu 12.04 and a 4G mobile broadband-modem called, ZTE mf880 ltf usb modem. Every time I loose internet-connection, Ubuntu seem to "loose track" of the modem and I have to pull it out and put it back in again, only to wait for Ubuntu to detect it again.
I'm using this Huawei EC169 CDMA USB Modem that's provided as a standard by PTCL in Pakistan when it comes to 3G connectivity.
The issue I'm having right now is that I have tried installing the Linux SW driver provided on PTCL's website
