A week after Netflix debuted its new iPhone application, just in time for the iPhone 5 launch, the company is today announcing it has brought a similar updated experience to users of Android devices.
A couple months ago Netflix released a major update to their app for Android users that brought significant changes to the user interface. Netflix is back at it, this time releasing a smaller update that includes support for Android 4.2, just in time for all the Android 4.2 devices being snapped up during the holiday shopping season.
Yesterday we reported on an update to the Netflix for Android app to bring it up to the same feature level as the iOS version that had been released last week.
Netflix teased this update earlier, and now it has delivered full support for the iPhone 5‘s larger screen and new aspect ratio.
OK while it is unofficial and basically a specialized WINE box.... a needless silverlight update has broken the netflix application in the software center... I click install update and right click run from the FF DL list but of cource it still wants me to update....
Is there a way to actualy add this Siverlight update to the netflix app bottle properly....
Since I can't post on the other forum, I'll post here.. Netflix runs OK, but jitters and freezes a bit at the start of whatever show you are watching.
After the show, if you click on the netflix button (upper left corner), the app just closes, and puts you back at your launcher screen.
No error message or any other message is shown.
Anyone that uses netflix? After installing Ubuntu 11 no extras, netflix played movies just fine. I'm thinking there was an update or something and it no longer will play. Says I need windows. This just started a couple weeks or so ago. Anyone got an answer for me on this one. Looking online all I get is netflix has not worked on linux but they are working on it...
Netflix is going to the movies with its Open Source Center on Github. In a clever play, Netflix has taken its well-known brand and placed it on GitHub to show each of its open source projects as its own movie, genre and characters.
Rolling over each movie poster thumbnail reveals a description of the open-source tool, the number of viewers, the number of forks, and the last update.

The baited, belabored wait is over! After almost four months of iPad exclusivity, Netflix has done as it promised: the iPhone and iPod touch app is here [iTunes link].
The Netflix app lets you stream TV shows and movies straight to your iOS device -- and according to MacRumors, the service works over Wi-Fi and 3G.
