Hey,
I'm having a little trouble with my IP tables Firewal/NAT/VPN Script
first of all I'm running my router behind a DSL Modem, which provides a static IP.
If I try to connect via VPN from outside I get a connection timeout reset.
The script:
Code:
# External (Internet-facing) interface
EXTIF="eth0"
# External IP address (automatically detected)
EXTIP=$(/sbin/ip addr show dev
Im using an old dell tower as a server and im trying to give it a static IP and when i opened the file "etc/network/interfaces" all i got was "auto lo" settings, no "auto eth0"?
Hi Archers,I can't believe I cannot establish a simple network connection.Here is the problem: a single Arch box, connected to ISP's modem directly with UTP cable. I don't need any username nor password.
Quite right.
I'm running Fedora 11 x64 on a workstation with two network interfaces, a conventional ethernet line to another computer, and an old Aironet wireless PCI card. My problem is that Fedora insists on using DHCP to assign the internet address for the wireless, though my configuration specifies a static address.

Not using NetworkManager - base Arch Linux with standard netcfgThe situation (coming from an old SysV-init guy who's pretty new to systemd):I have an application that has a dependency on a specific interface alias. To be more specific:1) eth0 comes up as a DHCP interface (but the address is static on the DHCP server side) and assigns the base IP, which we'll call 192.168.1.22) netw

Hello BackTrack Community.
A few days ago I tried to clone a website but it was unsuccessful.
First thing is that every time I type "ifconfig" it shows me "inet addr:10.0.2.15" and when I watch videos, most of people using BackTrack, when they type "ifconfig" in their Terminal, their "inet addr:" starts with 168..
