Clement Lefebvre, lead developer and founder of Cinnamon and Linux Mint, recently blogged about Nemo, a new file manager based on Nautilus 3.4.
Nemo in itself is now a new project and it will be tailored specifically for Cinnamon desktop environment. Clem says:
[...] Nautilus 3.6 is a catastrophe. It removes features we consider requirements.

Cinnamon is a LinuxMint project, a fork of Gnome Shell. Cinnamon comes with a Gnome2-like panel at bottom, with classic menu, favourite apps, and system tray icons on it. Cinnamon also has Gnome Shell Activity icon on top-left with “Windows & Themes”.
Cinnamon just released 1.1.3 version few hours ago with improvements of menu, panel launcher, etc.
This simple tutorial will show you how to install mountain lion theme gtk 3.6 in Ubuntu 12.10.

Linux Mint founder calls Nautilus 3.6 "a catastrophe"
Sigh... The way the devs are stripping options out of everything in Gnome makes me wonder what they're smoking
Is all this fragmentation good for the Gnome Desktop?
Cinnamon is a new Desktop, based on Gnome shell. It looks pretty cool and comes by default in Linux Mint 13 (maya) – Cinnamon edition.
ubuntu 12.04 gnome: concerning an updated custom ambiance theme: why is there no dark side bar when I click on a folder, like the home folder icon on the desktop, but the theme works as planned when I type "nautilus" in the terminal to open the home folder or when opening a folder up as root?
using Ubuntu 12.04 . First it came with Unity , then with a zeal of trying other Desktop Environments and i have installed gnome-shell and no conflicts , works fine. Then i have gone through Lubuntu and Xubuntu as usually . But some panel problem started with Lubuntu raised and i have removed Lubuntu DE from my PC .

Hi,
While running the alternative DE Cinnamon, I can't seem to identify a way to add scripts to Nautilus or Nemo.
Does anyone know if they still work?
Thanks
