Hi
The wife's Note is presently on stock rooted ICS running a custom kernel (can't remember which one of the top of my head). I want to update it to JB, but want to go down the path of least resistance (i.e.
Hello all,
I updated my Galaxy S3 to 4.1.2 a couple of weeks ago. After the update, my phone started acting very crazy. It would freeze constantly, my messages would disappear and reappear randomly, and I constantly had to remove the phone's battery. Today, I decided to backup my phone's data with Samsung Kies so that I could do a factory reset.
GT I9100 unlocked. Not rooted
OS 2.3.4
Windows 7, 64bit.
Installed Kies, ran the Kies update but it will not recognize that my phone is connected. Ran the trouble shooting - nothing.
Would like to get the ICS but looks like I cannot.
Any workaround to install the ICS firmware?
Thanks.
Tried to upgrade to Jelly Bean and the Kies PC program on my Win7 Sony Laptop wouldn't connect. Turns out that I've lost Kies on my S3. :(
Looked in the regular screens, in Apps, in the System folder, but it doesn't seem to be there. The Play Store doesn't provide "straight" Kies, only Kies Air and KiesCast, neither of which will let me upgrade to Jelly Bean.
I have a rooted Galaxy S3 with the original ROM that I cannot backup with my MacBook Pro or MacBook Air. Both laptops are running the latest OS X and so is the Samsung Kies program. My current OS X is 10.8.2, Kies is 2.0.0.12123_7 and my S3 is running 4.1.1.
No matter what I do I cannot backup my data from my phone to my laptop.
I purchased my phone unlocked in USA a year ago because i work and live overseas. It came with Gingerbread and I had no problems upgrading to ICS 4.0.3 but this morning Kies sent notificatrion of update to 4.0.4 so i installed it and I could no longer access my local network provider. I went to a local shop to have them try to unlock it but they had to do a factory reset.
ok i rooted my phone a few days ago and flashed sky ice cream. i backed up the stock rom (2.3.5). i tried restoring the stock rom and its says the md5 file is missing. so i decided to unroot my phone and restore it back to stock rom using odin and sgh-i727-uck j2-k0nane.tar. the unrooting was successful however my phone is still using the sky ice cream rom.

Hi,
Until recently when I updated to Kies_2.5.0.12094_28_8 I have had no problems what so ever with my phone or Kies.
(A note, when I plug the phone to my laptop without Kies started, I can browse my phones content.
