Need to try latest Linux kernel due to sky2 driver issues in 2.6.18

I downloaded the sk98lin driver off the Marvell website, the one for Fedora Linux 2.6 and I am trying to get it to work with the following device.

so lspci shows

02:00.0 Ethernet controller: Marvell Technology Group Ltd. Device 2a08 (rev 03)

lsmod shows

sk98lin 142216 0

You probably need a minix module. Running yum search minix shows me kmod-minix from elrepo.http://elrepo.org/tiki/tiki-i... [by scottro]

6.3 has some changes. Please look through http://elrepo.org/tiki/wl-kmod for what you need. [by pjwelsh]

I am new to linux, and ave been running fedora 11 for a while... After installing google earth i realized that i did not have any drivers installed for my Geeforce 8800GT graphic card.

Please help I got the proper driver extracted then ndiswrapper -i driver.inf was successful but I get:

[root@fbi x32]# ndiswrapper -l netw5v32 : invalid driver! netw5x32 : invalid driver!

[root@fbi x32]# uname -r 2.6.29.4-167.fc11.x86_64 [root@fbi x32]# rpm -qa|grep ndiswrapper kmod-ndiswrapper-1.54-4.fc11.8.x86_64

Just now I ran yum update. There was an error message to the effect that the latest nvidia kmod (kmod-nvidia-3.6.1-1.fc17) didn't match the latest kernel, which is still in the 3.5 range.

So I reran yum excluding kernel and kmod-nvidia.

I have had very good results from http://elrepo.org/tiki/wl-kmod [by pjwelsh]

Just a short Tutorial today. It’s surprising how many people do not know this. To change the hostname under Linux, open a terminal window. Type the following code. sudo nano /etc/hosts and change the text to your new hostname. Changes will take effect on Restart.
