I installed F16 with KDE 4.7.2 about a month ago and after installing all the audio and video codecs I was able to play DVD's through dragon player and CD's through KsCD.

Does anyone know how to play .wmv files, i have tried downloading and installing the following:

Alos tried using both VLC media player and movie player, in movie player the video does not show but i can hear the audio and in media player i get the following error:

hi friends, i am using fedora 12. How can i install vlc player and real player in offline?
And one more is , in fedora we have the default players Rythmbox and movieplayers.
If i tried to play songs or movie it showed an error saying "need codecs"?

I don't know why but I have installed everything Xine and Xine-related and play video files using it until my heart is content I can't make it the default player for a Fedora 16 machine using Gnome3 .
I right-click a file and because I have added xine.desktop to all the video extensions in both /usr/share files I can open with the player but ....
