Need Suggestion with player

http://forums.fedoraforum.org – Hello every one..im new to fedora linux..before it i was and still am a user of windows but recently installed linux..i really wanna try this fedora out and wanna learn more about it.. Well now the problem im facing.. is that i dont think the player can play the mp3 file..it gave option of installing codec and i did click search but was failed.. Now please can any one help me with how to install codecs or if there is a best player out there to play media files please share its info here.. WIll be waiting for your positive response.. Thanks.. Does anyone know how to play .wmv files, i have tried downloading and installing the following:

" GStreamer ffmpeg video plugin Codecs to play mpeg, divx, mpeg4, ac3, wmv and asf files "

Alos tried using both VLC media player and movie player, in movie player the video does not show but i can hear the audio and in media player i get the following error:

"No suitable decode

hi friends, i am using fedora 12. How can i install vlc player and real player in offline? And one more is , in fedora we have the default players Rythmbox and movieplayers. If i tried to play songs or movie it showed an error saying "need codecs"? How can i resolve these problems? please give an urgent reply to my questions as soon as possible.

I'm having trouble playing mkv files in Kaffeine, or any other player on openSUSE, which generally doesn't come with this type of codec.

I've already installed a mkv codec that I found in the openSUSE repository.
