I need some SQL Server configuration advice
My application is an eCommerce Application and CMS built on Microsoft .NET 4.0 framework.
I am configuring my IIS web server with a:
Dual Intel Xeon E5-2620 @2.00GHz hex core CPU Passmark 8,242 x2 = 18,484 Total 12 cores
Comes with 64GB RAM
1TB Sata drive x 2 configured with s/w RAID 1
My dilemma is getting the best off-the-shelf configur
Following is the specification of server and I want to Optimize MPM-Worker Setting to Handle the Brust of traffic spikes from social media and for handling 3000-4000 concurrent visitors.
The server is Dedicated for Only one website.
Kindly also let me know that which MPM will handle my case and what will be its Optimize setting for my case.

We have a very high configuration server which is holding 2 websites with considerably good traffic. In peak hours we have 3000 to 4000 simultaneous users. But the current configuration of our apache seems to be wrong, as it hangs or makes the site very slow in the peak hours.

I have an Ubuntu 12.04 server with a number of IPv4 addresses and a /64 of IPv6 addresses. I have it responding to its IPv6 addresses with ping6.
This is not your usual 404.
So before this 404, I was getting a 503. I fixed that by changing the listen port on my httpd.conf file from 80 to 8080.
When I was getting the 503, I was unable to start my apache server at all.
