I have Kubuntu 14.04 64-bit on an AMD box. I have Coax Digital IEC958 sound output to an audio receiver. After startup, sound works for a while (10-15 min), and thereafter (kmix) volume falls to zero - no sound thereafter. I can adjust sound in kmix, but it will invariably do the same thing.
I cannot find any relevant messages in dmesg or syslog.
I have Asus K55V, fedora 17 64 biti instaled. I have audio from laptop, but I canot use an audio sistem because when I connect the audio jack in audio out port, it doesn't get out any sound anymore. The sound from laptop stops and audio sistem doesn't work either. In win 7 it works OK. The sound hard from my laptop is provided by realteck.
I use Dell XPS L502x laptop to watch movies. F19 worked perfectly, but with F20 I have audio issue. If laptop is connected through MiniDisplayPort to external TV then I have to tweak audio settings in smplayer and vlc to get any sound. In XBMC I can't get any sound at all. If laptop is not connected to TV, then no problems.
i am having an sony E series laptop.i have an HDMI port .at this stage ,i have tested my sound card , which provides audio out on my laptop i.e i could hear songs .my laptop has two sound cards amd 5450 and an intel-hda(alsamixer shows that as s/pdif) .
I recently installed ubuntu 13.10 and am having trouble with no sound output. This was never an issue with 11, which was the last one I used. I am using an HDMI cable for video and audio this time rather than the vga and I'm not sure if that is an issue or not.
When listening to audio (pandora internet radio, google music, local MP3s, youtube, etc.), I get a repeated popping/crackling sound. When I look at the sound settings while this is happening, I see "Headphone Output" rapidly appearing and then disappearing in the "Play Sound Through" section.
Recently I have upgraded my Asus B43s from 12.04 to 12.04 HWE and have lost all audio upon start up. When going to the sound setting, there are no devices available. Once I run command "lspci | grep Audio" in the terminal, my audio comes back. If I shutdown or restart, I have to do the same thing over again before the sound is available.
