Hello,Someone here can explain me why iptables is slow to load iptables rules from a script after a reboot?it can take up to 2 minutes to make iptables start loading rules
Ubuntu 12.04 LTS - iptables v1.4.12
Where are iptables's rulesets saved when invoking iptables-save <ruleset-name> ?
The basic way of saving iptables's rules is invoking
iptables-save > /etc/iptables/rules.v4
ip6tables-save > /etc/iptables/rules.v6
and afterwards loading/restoring these rules in /etc/network/interfaces like:
iface eth0 inet static
I want to keep iptables rules under user-defined chains when I restart iptables using service iptables restart. Is it possible?
For example, when I start openvpn, it calls a script that adds rules to VPN-Rules chain for VPN interface.
