I have a ZTE Wireless router (local provider OTE) and all my devices (Android & Windows) connect to it.
My installation of Ubuntu 12.10 on an HP 110 laptop locates all other wifi networks around but not mine.

Wifi router is connected to the first one as dhcp relay.
Both are not the best ones, but relatively new; b/g/n modes.
