Need to copy files to existing directory and remove files already there with the same name but different extension

http://unix.stackexchange.com – I have a bunch of flac files on my hard drive. I would like to replace them with mp3 files. I have found a script that does a nice job of recursively converting them and storing the new mp3 in another directory of my choosing. I would like to copy each mp3 in the new directory to the directory holding the flac and then delete the flac file. This way, if the script fails to convert one file for some reason, the flac will not be lost. In fact, I could use find after I finish copying the mp3s to identify any flacs that remain unconverted. The difficulty is that I do not have enough space on th (HowTos)
