Nautilus behavior in Gnome 3.2 and later

http://forums.fedoraforum.org – When Fedora 16 with Gnome 3.2 came out, I drew attention to the strange feature of the context menu in nautilus by right-clicking. Some letters are underlined in the menu first, in a split second underlining disappeares. This is clearly seen in the pictures that I made from my desktop. In Gnome 3.0 (Fedora 15) I did not notice this behavior. Fedora 17 shipped with gnome 3.4, underlining in context menu still remains. Does anyone know what it is and how to disable it? I have two Screens And I installed gnome shell in my fresh 11.10. but for some reason the nautilus menus for the desktop forder apears in mi secondary screen.

this never happened in my fedora 15, don't know if it is a gnome 3.2 bug or a ubuntu oineric problem

i've manage to disable it by making nautilus no handle the desktop via the gnome-tweak-tool.

I used to be the guy who liked fedora for gnome 3, until gnome 3.4. Gnome 3.6 has cut down a lot of features from the previous versions of gnome3. I don't know why.

1. The nautilus 3.6 has been chopped of its arms and legs. They made it totally useless. They moved the things in nautilus for no big valid reason. Just see how many features have been removed from nautilus.

I'm using Ubuntu Precise(12.04) without Unity. $ sudo apt-get -y install gnome-panel logout and login selected [GNOME Classic]. Effect is on.

So, can I disable gnome-panel's context menu ? It is appear Super-Alt-Right Click to top-panel or bottom-panel. I want fixing my customized menu Icons.

Hi everyone i'm new in the forum and so i'd like to introduce myself! I tried various distros and then i set on Arch , the best!

I am running Fedora 17 gnome (shell) 3 and gnome terminal 3.4.1.1.

I am a user of both gnome-terminal and midnight commander. As default gnome-terminal has always used F10 (which I need while using mc), to opening the top menu. So was this time.

I am interested in adding a custom script to the Nautilus context menu.

when I update my system several weeks ago, I started to see the nautilus menu in my desktop! I saw this because I had a transparent Gnome Shell panel.

Today I re installed Ubuntu and things seems to be ok. Then I installed a shell extension which will hide the top menu... When its hidden, I can again see the menu! Anyone know how to get rid of it?

I'm missing any sort of menu (top bar or bottom) when using Gnome in Ubuntu 11.10.  I'm not using Unity.  Gnome Classic has a menu at the top, but I can't stand it because it won't autohide, even with some gnome-shell-extension.  Gnome-tweak-tool won't even show any extensions in that tab.     read more

I have just moved from Fedora 16 to Fedora 18, where Nautilus is still quite brilliant. Why did they strip away features from the brilliant Nautilus in F13.
