NASA ends communications with Mars rover Spirit

The Mars rover Spirit has been in hibernation on Mars due to the planet’s harsh winter. The mission team at NASA for the Mars Exploration Rover (MER) Spirit hope it will awaken from its deep slumber. They are listening for signs of life.

I love foursquare, I check in from pretty much everywhere I go. However, I would say that the Curiosity Rover on Mars is seeing cooler scenery than I ever have.

The NASA rover Spirit is stuck on the planet Mars. Even though it can’t move anymore it doesn’t mean the little robot is useless. Far from that, Spirit discovered water, probably as snow melt, trickled into the subsurface in the recent past.  

Good luck to the NASA team responsible for their Curiosity Mars rover. I wish them all the luck in landing this exciting mission to explore Mars as never before. Does any one know if Linux is involved actually with the rover?
