I'm pretty new to BIND so i was hoping maybe someone can help me understand why i can't resolve.
I'm trying to setup my BIND with a domain I own and I'm using dnssy.com and intodns.com to check if everything is ok, but I'm getting errors in both.
Working on setting up rbldnsd using bind 9.5 in scientific linux 6.2.
Would someone be able to tell me why I have several entries of the following on my server:
named 3196 1 2 Dec18 ? 00:55:43 /usr/sbin/named -u named -t /var/named/chroot
I do not use shared host or virtu
I am trying to get an IPv6 Bind DNS server running on RedHat ES4 Bind version bind-9.2.4-37.el4, but am having mixed results. I can get named to run correctly and I see named listening on my IPv6 address, I can even do a dig to the IPv6 local host address and it returns results.
I cant however get any dig results if I query against the IPv6 address it times out and doesn't return any results.
I’ve been struggling for understanding DNS with BIND9.
I’ve used tow machines A and B connected with LAN not for global use.
A is running name server managing “example” domain and web server named “www”.
B is running name server managing “sub.example” domain as subdomain of A and web server named “www” too.
Now I have fore servers in tow machines like bollow.
"ns.example" and "www.example"
there is no disk io going results of iotop

I'm having huge problem.
I'm new to Cloud servers and CentOS so bear with me :)
I'm running a CentOS 6 server on Rackspace Cloud. I've installed Virtualmin 3.89 (GPL version) and most of it seems to be configured and running ok.
When I add a new virtual server i get the following error:
Adding new DNS zone ..
.. BIND DNS domain failed!
