http://www.linuxquestions.org – I configured a dhcp and squid server on my RHEL5 box and I have 2 clients which are connected to internet through my box. I changed my hostname in /etc/sysconfig/network and in /etc/hosts ,Now in client machines there in no access to internet saying Code:   unable to determine IP address from Hostname and Code:   No DNS records. (HowTos)

hey everyone!!! i am about to follow a simple "how to" to install a web server on a linux machine with all the default settings(i.e no conf file is being edited (httpd.conf etc))...... here are a set of few questions i would like to know regarding such a web server: (1) at which ip can i access this server on lan???

I need to set up a small network but without using any gui tools. My network consists of 4 PCs connected through a switch. One of the PCs is also connected to the internet through a USB CDMA1X EV-DO modem (ppp interface). Now, I have designated this PC to be the default gateway for all the other machines.

Tired of not knowing anything except Windows. Bought a Dell mini with Ubuntu 8.04 installed on it and I'm working on learning Unix from the command line. This Forum ought to be helpful once I get a little further along.
