I've just got the asus n76vz dh71 with sonicmaster subwoofer. I got the output on the sonicmaster, but essential its a right channel, not the sub. I was following this
No sound from external subwoofer "Sonic Master" on an Asus N76VM
and this:
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/ASUS_N55SF
to try to fix the Intel Audio bug, but after reboot, ubuntu does not see any audio device at all.
I have already installed GNOME ALSA MIXER on Ubuntu. I did set the all the parameters correctly. In Hardware settings, in the "choose a device to configure" section, it appeared as "Built in Audio - 1 Output / 1 input - Analog surround 5.1 output + analog stereo input" because I've selected that "Analog surround 5.1 output + analog stereo input" as the profile.
Hello.
I am having some problems with audio in my Ubuntu 9.04.
When I was in Ubuntu 8.10, the audio device didn't work properly, to silence the speakers and hear from earphone output, I had to silence every track manually and only leave the Surround active. It was a bit of an anoyance but I didn't care.
I have a Dell Inspiron 17r, after a fresh install of 12.10, the subwoofer seems to be not utilized. No sound comes from it and in the Sound Control Panel the settings appear grayed out (see screenshot).
Laptop: Asus W7J
Audio device: ALC660

Other info: Sound worked with 11.04 after following these instructions
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1745179
and adding the line suggested there
echo "options snd-hda-intel model=3stack" | sudo tee -a /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf
Upgraded via.
I have read that there's a problem to get the subwoofer working in these laptops. I tried this solution No sound from external subwoofer
but I don't how to prove that the subwoofer is properly functioning.
Well, as the title says, my subwoofer and central audio are swapped. I tried, as a post said, to mannualy modify the audio channels, In /usr/share/pulseaudio/alsa-mixer/profile-sets/default.conf.
I made a sound test, but subwoofer played center's audio and viceversa.
Please Help! I need somebody!, but not just anybody!
My Sound Card is a Creative SB Live! 5.1 PCI
I have centos 6.3 running on this pc. the built in sound card is detected normally and is a 7.1 card with all speakers listed. It includes a optical out as well as hdmi for the built in video. It looks like pulse audio is automagicly miss configuring the optical out as it is listed as sterio digital out.
Don't no where to start.
I have an Acer 8930G Laptop.
Testing Ubuntu 9.10 32bit
Intel core 2 DUO (2.0GHz) T6400
3GB Ram
There is no stereo sound it is mono, if i move the balance slider left to right it moves the sound front to rear.
if i select 5.1 surround sound will only come out of the LFE (Subwoofer).
Any body got any ideas.
