Hey all,
I have been a user of W7 MCE for quite a bit now, and I want to shift to Mythbuntu. I have Limited experience with the setup process. Mythbuntu is installed on my ,machine and I have read the Hauppague HVR 1600, wiki, but it is like another language to me. Does someone have am easy to understand method for setting up two HVR 1600 cards for Mythbuntu for a complete newbie like me?
Hi everyone. I having a hard time trying to get the frontend of mythtv in 12.04 to connect to the backend. The frontend continues to restart all the time. How do connect the two ends together? I want to use the backend to record the tv shows and the frontend to watch them. Unfortunately, i can't get into the frontend. The backend is on a 32 bit machine and the frontend is on a x64 box.
Having trouble with a new mythbuntu install as frontend and backend. I believe I have the backend setup correctly. I've configured a HDHomeRun Prime and successfully scanned for and added channels. However, when I select watch tv on the frontend, the screen only flashes a "please wait" for a split second before returning to the menu.
I have been having some strange problems trying to install Mythbuntu on a new HTPC set up. I am usually pretty good with a bit of trouble shooting & have used Linux exclusivly since going cold turkey on Windows about 4 years ago. However this situation really has got me beat.
I am trying to install Mythbuntu from a CD onto my new hardware configuration.

Mythbuntu is a community supported add-on for Ubuntu focused upon setting up a standalone MythTV-based PVR system, which can be used to prepare a standalone system or to integrate it with an existing MythTV network.
