Hello, all. Thanks in advance to any and all who reply.
I am thinking seriously of building a Mythbuntu box.
I live in the US.
I have digital cable.
I have a set-top box. (It's a Samsung SMT-H3050.)
I need to know the following information:
1. I am considering the following three Hauppauge tuner cards: the 1250, 1600, and 1800.
I am running the fully up to date Mythbuntu. I have both pm-suspend and s2ram working now (have to rmmod v4l2_common before suspend for the computer to wake up, and then modprobe once it has started) but my Hauppauge HVR-1600 PCI tuner card will not wake up. All the /dev files (video0, video24, radio0, frontend0) are missing after waking up from suspend. Everything works fine after a reboot.
The digital side of my hvr-1600 works, can find and receive cable, some but not all, unencrypted channels but the analog side does not seem to be detected. The digital side is detected as an Samsung S5H1409 QAM/ Subtype ATSC at /dev/dvb/adapter0/frontend0 DVB DTV Capture Card (v3.x).
I have an athlon II 3 core system which has a built nvidia 7025 video. The video capture card is a hauppauge hvr-1600 (cx18). I have installed mythbuntu 11.10 64bit and brought all the packages up to date. The nvidia driver is 173 and it is activated and in use.
I stepped thru the process of setting up mythbuntu backend with the video card of type IVTV Mpeg-2 encoder card.
I have been having some strange problems trying to install Mythbuntu on a new HTPC set up. I am usually pretty good with a bit of trouble shooting & have used Linux exclusivly since going cold turkey on Windows about 4 years ago. However this situation really has got me beat.
I am trying to install Mythbuntu from a CD onto my new hardware configuration.
Hi all,
This is my first post, so be gentle. I've been working on setting up a HTPC with mythbuntu. I just installed mythbuntu 12.04 with Mythtv 0.25.
My remote is a Vista MCE made by Ortek (I followed these instructions to get it functioning properly, and everything looks great. The only problem is that I can't seem to control the Xfce desktop with the remote.
After the heavy hitters from Canonical, it's time for Mythbuntu 12.04.2 LTS to be officially released.
Mythbuntu is a community supported add-on for Ubuntu focused upon setting up a standalone MythTV-based PVR system, which can be used to prepare a standalone system or to integrate it with an existing MythTV network.

Hello ~ All,
Never install software unless you know exactly what it will DO!!
Wise, but impracticable...
I wanted to see what mythbuntu would do and explore its functionality.. BIG mistake...Now it has taken over my system - can't get my ubuntu 10.04 desktop back?
The last couple of days I have been going slowly crazy:mad:
I have a fresh install of Mythbuntu 12.04.1 (with MythTV 0.25) on my Antec Fusion Micro box with 15c2:0038 LCD display.
