I'm asking this just to be safe and have searched and didn't see anything that addresses the question I have. Is it ok to have multiple virtual machine software installed such as VirtualBox which I have already downloaded from the repository and I was thinking to give a try Qemu and maybe later Xen.
Hello,
I am running 12.04 32-bit ubuntu. I need some help with the Virtualbox kernal. Hopefully someone can help me or point me in the righ direction, google has been unhelpful.
I must of not typed it correctly into the package manager because I didn't find virtualbox. So, I downloaded virtualbox 4.2 from the website which was a *.deb file. I ran the file and it seemed to install.
I'm trying to setup a development server on my computer using Ubuntu 11.10 \n \l (Desktop, 64bit AMD) and VirtualBox 4.1.8r. I have installed the Guest Addtitions from the VirtualBox "Devices" > "Install Guest Additions" menu. The installation went smoothly, and I was able to connect to the internet using the default NAT network setup.
I have ubuntu 12.04 installed with virtualbox 4.1.12. I have a windows 7 professional 32-bit virtualmachine with a bridged network adapter inside virtualbox. I've given a static ip to this machine with all ports open on both host and virtual machine (for now) but people outside of my network can't remote into the virtual machine, just the host.
This is pretty much my first real venture into the world of virtual machines.
I am attempting to install VirtualBox and failing miserably. I am brand new to Ubuntu (and Linux. Just started two days ago.) and want to install VirtualBox to run Windows 7; however, I don't know why it isn't working. I have tried installing it from Oracle's website. Didn't work. I tried uninstalling and re-installing. Didn't work.
I have VirtualBox version 3.2.8.r64453 running on Windows XP SP3.
Installed as a guest is Ubuntu 10.04, which was installed a few days ago and I let the update manager fully update after the install.
I then installed guest additions, and haven't had any problems. Although the last couple of days Update Manager has done "partial updates" due to an external package changing some files.
I've searched along 5 days In internet for a solution to my case, but I already did almost everything and I got nothing yet.
I installed ubuntu 12.04 LTS, in VirtualBox, I'm using bridged mode in the virtualbox network pref, I use as a router a Routerboard 450, with no proxy, DHCP with static Ip to my virtual ubuntu, also I use openDNS Ips to resolve the host names.
Let's start the pain, I'm new
I'm currently trying to set up a debian virtual machine on HyperV (the final goal is running this machine in azure, which uses a HyperV virtualization under the hood), but I can't get the network up.
The Machine was originally created in VirtualBox and exported as a VHD image, and then re-imported in a hyperV Server.
