I just installed Ubuntu on my laptop yesterday and it connected to the wireless fine. Then I took it to school, put it on their wired connection, downloaded some stuff, and now the wireless doesn't work.
At first it would detect networks, but not connect. I restarted it and now it can connect, but it acts like it doesn't have internet in the browser. Wired connection still works fine on it.

Hello, all.
I recently installed openSUSE 11.3 on my Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop.
I'm running SUSE 11.3 on a Dell Inspiron 1501 with a Broadcom BCM4311 wireless card. Everything looks like it is installed right, but when I try to connect to my wireless network I can't see any networks. I've tried using network manager and ifup in yast and I've tried scanning for networks and entering the ssid manually and nothing works. Let me know if there's anymore info you need.
Hi I just deleted my windows XP and installed Ubuntu 9.10 earlier this morning. I used wired connection to get drivers for my wireless network card.
When I did lspci, the very last line states:
Network Controller: Broadcom Coporation BCM4311 902.11b/g WLAN(rev 01)
I'm on Ubuntu Maverick (10.10). I've read a few threads regarding wired connection problems, but haven't found a solution yet.
The problem appears after I connect to a wireless network. When I disconnect wireless and plug in an internet cable, the wired connection is not recognized at all.
I am a brand new user to Ubuntu (all of my previous experience being in Windows). I have recently begun to dual boot for the sake of work, so I installed Ubuntu 12.04 on my Dell Inspiron 1525. It possesses a Broadcom BCM4312 Wireless card. I have no troubles getting an ethernet connection to work, but my wireless is acting odd, to say the least.
I have a dell latitude 2100 running ubuntu 11.1. Wireless internet works fine on it but wired connections do not. When I plug a ethernet cord in, it keeps on saying wired connection connected followed by disconnected. When I check the ethernet connection in the network part of system settings, it also keeps rapidly changing to on/off.
