Hello.
Hi all, I have a problem with my laptop battery and ubuntu karmic, turns out battery life is VERY low, If I get an hour and a half of battery life Im lucky1!!! any help regarding this??? In windows I have like 5 hours or more so I guess its a configuration issue.
thanks in advance!
Specs:
Ubuntu Karmic 64 bit
Hp Pavilion DV4-2013la
I really like Ubuntu, and I want to work with it always instead of windows. But the problem I find is that the battery runs out very fast (< 2 hours) when I use Ubuntu. It would have been great if I could get like 3 - 4 hours of battery life.
My windows provides me 4.5 - 5 hours.
I have a HP DM4 Beats Edition running Ubuntu 11.10. The HP Pavillion runs on-board Intel graphics as well as Radeon GPU.
From what I have read it appears that the Radeon GPU is draining my battery and also causing the laptop to overheat.
I'm using Ubuntu 12.10 with Gnome 3.6 on a Dell Inspiron N5010 laptop, but I have a problem with the power handling/battery. As soon as I disconnect my charger, the battery starts discharging from an indication of 51% and it lasts for only 1 hour. Compared two hours in Windows 7, this is a major difference.
I've installed Jupiter and I don't see any change.
Hello to all.I'm having similar problems like this one, here using a Dell Vostro 3460, maybe is just some non-windows OS unfriendly hardware. Battery last like 5 or 6 hours on Windows, and just like 2 or 2 and a half on Arch.
Hi All,
The F17 installation on my laptop is causing my laptop to heat up a lot (even in idle condition)!:C
With more heating the CPU fan keeps on running continuously and when running on battery it runs out of battery in about an hour. In my Windows 7 partition I get a battery life of over 4 hrs!
Hi, I'm new to ubuntu. I was using opensuse earlier, started using ubuntu when I got my new dell inspiron 15R (5520) pre-installed with ubuntu 11.10. Am upgraded to 12.04 now.
After upgrade to 12.04, the laptop is running very hot and fan is screaming away all the time, Battery life is so low that I have to use it plugged in, all the time. I have an AMD Radeon HD 7xxx graphics card.
Hello all!
I have been searching trough the for and Google but I couldn't find up to date replys to the battery life when running Ubuntu in a MacBook Pro through dual boot.
When I boot into Mac, let's say battery is at 89% and it says that's going to last 3 hours. If I boot right after into Ubuntu, it says battery is going to last just 1 hour.
