Just wondering which codec does the HW video decoder support? The specs say this....
Video Player; Compatible Video Files, 3GPP, H.264, MPEG4, WMV; Video, Streaming
However, it does not say if it is through hardware decoding or software. Also, does the stock player support HW decoding? I want to say it does, but not 100% sure.
Thanks!

OK, so I get this every night when I plug my phone in (Verizon Galaxy S3, rooted, stock ROM), Watchdog pops up after a few minutes and alerts me that Video Player is using ~45% of the CPU. And I keep getting the alert unless I click on the alert and kill the video player. The odd thing is that it will do this regardless of when the video player was even used last.
I am using 2.3.5 official update.
720p videos are working fine with MX player with hardware decoding on.
But 1080p videos are not working with hardware decoding. It plays with a lot of lag with software decoding in MX player.
I am wondering if I overclock the device will it play 1080p videos with software decoding.
Is there any other way I can play 1080p videos on this device.

Flowplayer is an Open Source (GPL 3) video player for the web. Use it to embed video streams into your web pages. Built for site owners, developers, hobbyists, businesses, and serious programmers.
Flowplayer is a flash video player, just like YouTube player. Except that the founders claim it's a dramatically better alternative and they have the number to back up the statement.
I read that running Ubuntu through a virtual machine such as VMware Player or VirtualBox is actually less costly on a laptop's battery than Wubi because it utilizes Windows' drivers, which are optimized for Windows by the hardware manufacturers, as opposed to the Linux drivers, which are less optimized and thus more costly for your system. Is this true for Wubi?
