When I launch it, It appears half a second and close.

I'm having the same problem with 12.04.01 as Eeesy in a previous post.
I use the link in Kubuntu to invoke the installer to 'Install Mozilla Firefox Browser.'
(By 'invoking the installer' I mean K menu-->Applications-->Internet-->'Mozilla Firefox Browser Installer') I go through the installation dialogue boxes, and it indicates Package successfully installed.
It took a whole lot of time for adopters to embrace 64-bit browser versions, but the scale has tipped enough to finally warrant 64-bit Firefox. Mozilla hasn't made the official announcement yet, but Firefox Wiki has posted documentation showing Mozilla plans to launch a 64-bit version of its browser as Firefox 37 next March.

A couple of days back, we reported that Firefox 5.0 was available ahead of its scheduled release date in Mozilla’s FTP server. Well, today it has landed in the firefox-next PPA that Mozilla maintains for early adopters.
It’s a busy day for Mozilla. The company just announced that its Firefox OS Simulator, which it officially launched three weeks ago, is now stable enough for a formal 1.0 launch.
In addition, Mozilla also just announced that it is bringing per-window private browsing to Firefox.
