So I have decided that I would make up a little conky tutorial file that has some of my best scripts to save space.I started making them when I ran into a laptop that had a short screen, that even my smallest conky at the time ran off.So to make sure that I could keep the conky on the screen I started making things compress when not active.Alright so here is the body of my conky tutorial, I do hav
I will start by saying that I configured a conky file and made it work, but when I added lua rings it ran without having to restart, but once I restarted the rings wouldn't start up, I got the error message in the title, here is my conky script
I am trying to use this rings script to make nice rings appear on my desktop. It allows for customization, addition of more rings, or so it says. How do I feed the output of my python script to these rings?
Hi All :)I've been working on my tint2 and conky configs today and decided to get a couple of things going which I haven't tried before. One was showing unread emails in my conky, and the other was showing the number of updates available from apt.I have the email stuff working now (configs soon to appear in the My Conky Config thread), but am a bit stuck on the updates part.
I wish it was as simple as that. Since i've installed both the libcairo2 and liblua5.1-oocairo0. I've tried multiple scripts with cairo in conky as well and no cairo output occurs. From clock rings, to simple hello world scripts. On some scripts I receive 'attempt to call a nil value' from conky.
Go to a tty (Ctrl-Alt-F2 to get to tty2 should do), login, and issue a `sudo killall conky`. Conky should be dead when you get back to your X environment (tty7).EDIT: Ninja'd by porkpiehat in this thread. Also, as this is a duplicate thread, I'm closing it so OP will only have one thread to check.
