Mouse pointer jumps after a click

http://askubuntu.com – My problem is that if I click with my mouse on my desktop (unter linux) the it jumps to the left side, either in which part of the desktop (or in any open program). I can´t shutdown my pc, only with the power button and that´s not the way it´s meant ;) Also I´ve tried to select a different mouse driver but without any success, it´s not easy to change something if you have troubles to get there ;) Hope anyone can help me! This problem comes with Ubuntu and Fedora, but not with Windows ... Yours Stefan (HowTos)

I have installed Ubuntu 12.04.1 on my new Lenovo IdeaPad Y580 M772DGE. Unfortunately the right mouse button of the touchpad is not working correctly. Every mouse button click is interpreted as a left mouse button click. I tried to uninstall and reinstall the synaptics (xserver-xorg-input-synaptics) drivers, but the problem is still present.

What else can I do? Any other suggestions?

When I move my mouse slowly over the desktop the pointer jumps often a few pixels (one or two) in the opposite direction of which I move my mouse. Horribly when trying to set the cursor around some semicolons in eclipse. I guess this is the result of a wrong set resolution of it.

Howdy... I just installed Fedora 18 and I noticed that the mouse pad on my laptop doesn't work. I can move the pointer with my finger but when I tap the pad to select a link with the pointer, it doesn't work. I have to click the left mouse button below the pad in order to select a link. If I use a USB mouse, it works fine. Any help that can be offered would be most appreciated.

Hi

Well, the problem is that my mouse is broken and when I click the left button it generates 2 mouse clicks, so until I buy a new mouse I need to somehow temporarily fix it.

My idea is to set some kind of limit between mouse clicks, that when you click the mouse then you will have to wait let say 0.2sec before you can click it again and every mouse clicks generated before passing those 0.2sec

So this is a weird little issue I've come across.I bought a new mouse and when I first used it and installed the drivers for it (its a cyborg RAT7 Gaming mouse) I was logged into my windows partition.  The last time I booted into chakra my old mouse was working fine.So, the next time I booted into Chakra, I could not right click on the desktop but could left click and drag to group icons

Whenever I right click, or do something else my mouse jumps randomly. I've searched and searched, and can't find a solution :(My laptop is a Pavilion g7, and uses synaptic.
