I wanted to auto-mount all the partitions in my system, (i.e. the C,D,E and F drives from windows). I used ntfs config tool to do that, but it throws me an error when I check the mount selection for my C drive, the one that has Windows installed on it.
I have loaded FC12 alpha 64 bit. I am pleased to see the floppy icon again the the "Computer" folrer, in "Places" in the "File browser" and in the "Disk Uility"
If i click on teh floppy icon in Computer (with a known disk in he drive) the drives LED comes on it makes noises and a window then says "opening floppy drive"
I just got a new flash drive, it worked fine, but then I started messing with this app called "storage device manager" and now when I try to mount the flash drive, I get this:
Error mounting: mount exited with exit code 1: helper failed with:
Unprivileged user can not mount NTFS block devices using the external FUSE
library.
I have an external USB drive that when I disconnect still shows up in the /media folder. the device name is MediaDrive and when i connect it now it shows up as MediaDrive_ and the old name still show up too. I am not able to umount it.
The drive is an NTFS partition not sure how to remove the ghost media drive.

I'm having some issues with my CD/DVD drive in Ubuntu. When I first start up Ubuntu the drive works fine, but after I eject the disc that was in there, it doesn't seem to be able to mount the drive again. When I try to mount it by right clicking, I get this message: mount: special device /dev/scd1 does not exist.
My fstab configuration has always worked, but recently (and somewhat out of the blue,) my Ubuntu has started to attempt to mount my usb hard-drive twice.
The error is
Unable to mount cloud
Error mounting: mount exited with exit code 1: helper failed with:
mount: according to mtab, /dev/sde1 is already mounted on /media/cloud
mount failed
Where 'Cloud' is the name of my usb hard-drive.

Hi,
I have Ubuntu 9.10 on an Acer Aspire One (to play and learn Linux). I installed an Apache 2 web server
and that works fine. However, I want to be able to see files on an external USB drive.
A couple days ago my windows corrupted and I had to mount Ubuntu onto a usb and install it onto a different hard drive that is also connected to the same computer. I have files that I would LOVE to recover off that other computer but if it comes down to it I can get rid of them I would just like to be able to use the hard drive again.
HI
I am unbale to mount my hard drive and i am getting following error message.
