Motorola Xoom, Galaxy Nexus, Nexus S get Android Jelly Bean

Google dropping support for Samsung Nexus S GT-I902X smartphone and Motorola Xoom tablet with the new Android 4.2 Jelly Bean update.

Google’s upcoming Jelly Bean for Android devices looks to be the most anticipated and complete Android OS to date. While we know that the Google-branded developer devices such as the Galaxy Nexus, Nexus S and Motorola Xoom are all set to get first dibs of the OS update sometime this month, owners of other devices are left to twiddle their thumbs and play the waiting game.

Well friends, the unofficial Nexus Google Developer tablet has just become a whole lot smoother and buttery. How, you ask? You all remember how we told you about a certain colorful, yet buttery test run that was imminent for certain Motorola Xoom owners?

We already knew about the upcoming Motorola Xoom soak test and now we have confirmation that it will begin very soon… possibly as soon as tonight. Members of the Motorola Feedback Network are receiving emails that pretty much state that it’s coming any time now. Though the email does not specifically state this is the Jelly Bean update, our sources tell us that it is.

We already knew that the Motorola XOOM will be receiving Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean sooner rather than later so it’s no surprise soak testing is about to begin. Motorola just sent out emails to Motorola forum members that own the XOOM WiFI inviting them to test an upcoming update.

i really want a xoom, its the only other tablet i want considering it now runs Jelly Bean, the 10.1 inch display and of course being Motorola...im a huge Moto fan....but anyways, whats holding me back is, im not sure if i will be really losing out here.

Could the Verizon Galaxy Nexus finally be getting its Jelly Bean update?

Earlier this week Jelly Bean had begun appearing on Nexus S devices in Pakistan. Today on the Nexus Google+ account, they announced that Jelly Bean is currently being released to customers on at least five different carriers around the world, presumably, this includes the unlocked GSM models too.

Well, it looks as though Google’s full line of Nexus and AOSP devices are poised to receive the update to Android 4.1.2, as Motorola XOOM Wi-Fi owners should now be seeing the OTA update live on their tablets. The software bump comes just hours after Google released the new firmware for GSM Galaxy Nexus and Nexus S handsets.
