However, the irony is that Google’s acquisition of Motorola shows no signs of releasing a stock Android experience. It seems like a no-brainer, right? A company that Google acquired – that happens to manufacture phones – will surely release a pure Android phone, right? Not so much. If you were to look deep within Bloomberg’s lengthy recap of Google’s recent Motorola acquisition, you would notice that Motorola wasn’t the only company Google acquired throughout the whole process.

We have some Android OEMs that are bad about releasing updates for their handsets, and then we have Motorola. In a world where more and users are demanding updates, Motorola has completely failed to bring those updates, and in many cases backed out of their promises to upgrade phones.

Now that Motorola is owned by Google, you may think that past and present Motorola devices should get the latest and best version of Android. Even though the Motorola XPRT is a niche device, Google and Motorola should take pride in their older models and foster customer satisfaction.

Following the split of Motorola to form Motorola Mobility and Motorola Solutions earlier this year, Motorola Mobility has been acquired by Google. This is Google's biggest acquisition and signals its intention to become as dominant in the smartphone market as it is in search.
