ZTE has never been known for high quality phones, but today the Chinese manufacturer pulled out all the stops and unveiled a new and stunningly beautiful super phone known as the Grand S. The unveiling comes a few weeks earlier than the big electronics trade show, CES, and is bound to make a big splash. This is truly a top-of-the line phone in every respect.
Wait, can it be? Yes, HTC has finally revealed its long-rumored 5-inch smartphone, and it’s quite a device. The HTC J Butterfly is the company’s newest feat, sporting a Super LCD 3 1080p panel (440ppi), a Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core processor, LTE and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean .
HTC’s first attempt to challenge Samsung’s “ph-ablet” (phone/tablet) device in the Galaxy Note II has surfaced via a leaked photo. Code named as the HTC DIx, this device will feature a whopping 1080p display along with a pixel density of 480ppi.

Earlier this week, we heard that Motorola was gearing up to announce a new phone alongside the Droid RAZR HD at its event on September 5th, but new evidence has prematurely revealed Motorola’s secret. Dubbed the Droid RAZR M 4G LTE, the new handset will feature a 4.3-inch qHD (960 x 540) Super AMOLED Advanced display, a dual-core MSM8960 Snapdragon S4 chipset and 1GB of RAM.
China-based Oppo seems to be ahead of the curve lately. They launched the world’s thinnest smartphone called the Oppo Finder, and now they are looking to launch the first smartphone with a 1080p display called the Find 5.
Asus introduced the new Padfone Infinity today at MWC in Barcelona. The successor to the company’s hybrid tablet/smartphone has a redesign with an aluminum back and edge-to-edge glass display, a 5-inch display with 1920 x 1080 resolution and 441 PPI.
As the phablet craze continues to really take off, we are seeing more and more offerings from respective Android manufacturers. Not content to allow HTC and Samsung dominate the party, Huawei has gone ahead and a 6.1-inch beastly phablet called the Huawei Ascend Mate.
