Extole, a startup offering tools for brands to manage their “social advocacy” programs, has raised $7.5 million in new funding.
The round is a follow-on to the $10 million Series C that Extole raised about a year ago, and it comes from existing investors, including Shasta Ventures, Norwest Venture Partners, Redpoint Ventures, and Trident Capital.
Marketing startup TrueLens is announcing that it has raised a $1.2 million round of funding.
Adly, a startup that connects advertisers with celebrities willing to post promoted messages on social networks, recently raised $2 million in additional funding.
The new funding came from previous backer GRP Partners and new investor Siemer Ventures. Adly has now raised a total of $7.5 million.
The company also launched a new product this week.
Social commerce network Lockerz, which just lost its founder and CEO Kathy Savitt to Yahoo, has raised $7.5 million in new funding, according to an SEC filing. A spokesperson for the company confirmed the new funding, and said the round was raised from existing investors. The filing lists both Kleiner Perkins and Liberty Media. Other investors in the company include Live Nation and DAG Ventures.
Spreecast, a social video platform that lets people broadcast together, has raised $7 million in Series A funding from Meakem Becker Venture Capital, GGV Capital and MentorTech Ventures as well as Stan Shuman, managing director at Allen & Company. Other participants in the round include Gordon Crawford, Sandy Robertson, and Edward W.
Social news startup Nuzzel has raised more than $1.7 million in seed funding.
I say “startup,” but at this point the only person working full-time on the project is Jonathan Abrams, who previously founded or co-founded Friendster, HotLinks, Socializr, and the Founders Den.
