Ubuntu 11.04 final has released and I just installed it from Windows 7 and previous Ubuntu 10.10 was erased. After installation, monitor displayed “signal out of range” while starting up, but I can choose Ubuntu or Windows 7 using up/down arrow keys and press enter to boot up although I can’t even see the grub menu.
I'm fairly new to ubuntu and have just installed Ubuntu Server 12.04 on a spare machine to experiment and play with!
The installation went without problem, however whenever the OS boots the monitor displays a an error message saying the resolution is "out of range" and i can't see to do anything - i can wait as long as i like, but nothing appears.
Ubuntu is the only OS installed so bypasses GRU
I've recently installed Ubuntu 12.04 on my computer. Now, every time I boot and when I shut down, my monitor goes blank and says "Input Signal Out of Range - Change Setting to 1920x1080 60Hz." Once the computer gets to the login screen, it's okay again. This problem also happens when I try to open any 3d app. My graphics card is NVIDIA GEforce 6150 SE.
I recently got a second hand PC and installed xubuntu on it. At boot though, instead of the grub screen, I would get the message:
"Input signal out of range.
Hi,
I'm trying to install Ubuntu 12.04 64bit from a CD.
The CD boots fine, and I get the little keyboard icon you get when its booting fine. The monito then shuts down due to no signal. I think the UBuntu desktop is detecting the graphics card max res and going beyond the range of the monitor (a 19" 1366X768 max res). Is there anyway to force the resolution down?

In Ubuntu Unity, Ctrl+Super+D key combination can be used to hide all windows and show desktop. This tutorial shows how to add ‘Show Desktop’ icon onto Unity launcher in Ubuntu 12.04.
Method 1. Use Myunity
Myunity is a popular unity configuration tool.
Well, on every fresh install, it can be Ubuntu 11.04, 11.10, 12.04, 12.10; Kubuntu 12.04; Linux Mint 9 or 14 Cinnamon, when i install ATI proprietary drivers, and do a reboot (to get drivers working), on some versions it shows the Ubuntu or Linux Mint logo, and when it comes to load the MDM/LDM/GDM my monitor gets out of range.
The message showed is:
Monitor out of Range (frequency)
74.9kHz / 6
