My Situation:
VMWare ESXi 5.0 SSH Access
One of my VMFS volumes is completely full.
VMFS is a clustered filesystem designed to store virtual machine disks for VMware ESX or ESXi Server hosts.
In Ubuntu Linux, there is a command line tool vmfs-tools that allows to access VMFS filesystems from some other non ESX/ESXi host for e.g. maintenance tasks.
For now, only read access is available, but write access is under works.
I'm having a small problem understanding Gluster Bricks and Nodes. In particular, on the 3.3.0 Administration Guide, eg, page 12 - 13, the discussion on "Striped Volumes" vs "Distributed Striped Volumes". See chapter 5, page 9, for the overview.
I'm looking to use it in a VMware ESXi 5.X environment for a HA NFS storage solution.
Let me start by saying I am somewhat of a Vmware novice, I know just enought to manage and create servers at a basic level from the vSphere client.
I have a VMWare server, ESX 4.0 connected over iSCSI to a SAN. The SAN is being used as storage for both RDMs and VMFS volumes.
The SAN has died and I ordered a new one.
I am about to upgrade the RHEL version from RHEL 5.4 to RHEL 6.3 in a few hundreds of production servers.
The upgrade will be tested on a staging environment on virtual machines before production deployment.
Are there any backward-compatibility issues with RHEL upgrades?
Hi,
I have installed RHEL 5 on Vmware. I have configured a simple FTP. I am able to transfer and receive files from the vmware-RHEL to my desktop on which vmware is installed and vice-versa. But when i try from other machine in the network it fails.
Hi.
I'm using Fedora for 2-3 years and i really like it and I even can pay for it, but Fedora Team don't need donations at this moment. I'm thinking about buying Red Hat Enterprise Linux Desktop - what do You think about using RHEL Dekstop on laptop? The problem is - what RHEL give me, that Fedora don't have.
I need to create a local repository in RHEl 5.5. i386
Because when I type some command in terminal it say that RHEL is not subscribed with RHN which is true. I took it from friend .
So can someone tell me how to achieve this target.
Note :: RHEL is installed on virtual box and Host system is Ubuntu
