WinThumbnails is a dock for GNOME Shell that displays live thumbnails of windows of the running applications.
The dock can be aligned to the left or to the right side of the screen. It also can be configured to autohide and to show thumbnails for all running windows or for minimized ones.
The dock has been originally created by Aleksandr Starun and Dmitriy Kostiuk.

Is it possible to move the Gnome Shell dock extension over to the left and disable the autohide?
I upgraded Ubuntu 12.04 to 12.10. I use Gnome shell. Gnome 3.6 is working fine, but there are no applications menus. I have tried several suggestions I found online, but I can'g get the menus back. When I click "Activities" I just get a blank page.
After removing all extensions, I now have an icon on the dock that shows all applications.
Gnome Shell places pop up notifications on the middle bottom of screen.
install: sudo pacman -S gnome-tweak-tooland go to https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/ … h-to-dock/ and install the extension

My favourites dock comes to my right (see screenshot attached), due to some reason (I think its a side effect of an extension install).
Here is the situation. Changed unity shell to gnome shell. Installed the gnome tweak tool, installed the shell extension, themes, etc...everything i normally need to do that is installed
When i go to gnome tweak tool, and click on shell extension, the right list is empty
I've surfed the web and questions for answer.
I have just upgrade gnome-shell 3.0 to 3.3.9 and surprised. Almost no gnome-shell extension are not supporting. I find few in the internet which support new gnome-shell.
?????????WHY????????
One of the most important condition of software developing(Engineering) is to support the previous version as much as possible. Why are gnome-shell developers doing this?
