Every time I restart my modem, I come across this problem: the modem is shown connected but no internet is available. ...
I am using Ubuntu 12.10 x86_64. Whenever I try to connect to internet using Micromax 310G 3G USB moedem it doesn't work. Things happen in this sequence:
1) As soon as I insert the modem stick the pop-up gets displayed saying "System program problem detected". I have reported this problem so many times using "Report problem" button there.
I use century link as provider. I can connect to ubuntu with out turning router on,, Why? I am concerned about privacy issues! Where or what am I connecting to? Using Dell laptop with wireless modem. Wireless connection not linked to modem because power to that modem in off. I live in apt complex where a linux connection registers as poor but does not indicate I am connected.
I have Micromax 3G modem, and i inserted it in the USB port, but it is not being detected by Ubuntu 12.04, that i'm using from a Live USB. I tried creating a mobile internet connection, however, eventhough i created it, there is no option to connect. I had previously used 11.10 Ubuntu, and it had automatically detected the datastick modem and asked me to create a connection.
I am running Ubuntu 11.04 on my laptop and I use a 3G USB modem for my Internet connection.
I wanted to share this Internet connection with my girlfriend's laptop that is running Window XP. Basically, I created the the wireless connection on my laptop and now it just connects and disconnects all the time. Why is it doing this?
HI,
This happens often for my ubuntu 12.04.
I'm using ubuntu on my laptop and connect to internet via wifi.
Sometimes even though the connection is established with the modem I'm unable to connect to the internet.
at that times I'm also unable to connect to 192.168.1.1, which should give me the page to my modem even if there is no internet connection to the modem.
I have Ubuntu 12.04 and a 4G mobile broadband-modem called, ZTE mf880 ltf usb modem. Every time I loose internet-connection, Ubuntu seem to "loose track" of the modem and I have to pull it out and put it back in again, only to wait for Ubuntu to detect it again.
