http://forum.xda-developers.com – Hi. I've seen some threads about mods for the menu button but never ending with a flashable zip. I really like the CM10 feature of customising the long press of the capacitive menu button. I make it show my recent apps and that way I don't have to press the hardware home button. Has anyone found a zip with this mod? It would be great to be able to use it with any Rom. Right now I'm on WanamLite JB and would like to add this feature to this Rom. Thanks. (HowTos)

Here's the idea:

I'd like to remap the keys in my N7K as follows: -Long press home button for search -Press current menu button for multitasking (show open apps) -Long press current menu button for menu option.

The others would operate the way they do currently.

Any kind person could help with this? Thank you in advance!

I am trying to remap the menu button to pull up the recent app and long press from menu. Then have long press of the home button pull up Google now. I am able to easily do this with CM, but I want to have this feature and run AOKP.

Did some searching on this. I know you can got to the file in system/usr/keylayout/sec_touchkey.kl and edit the remapping of the keys.

Hey Guys

I used to be able to Long Press the Home Button, and it would show all the apps that I have running, and I would be able to close my recent apps by swiping them.

Now, whenever I Long Press the Home Button, it does nothing.

I have Nova Launcher Prime and WidgetLockerPro (not sure if this app will be the problem or not), and I'm in the settings, and it should work.

is any one else having issue after changing recent button to menu button in gesture settings that menu dosent work on stock JB unrooted. works fine in apps, browser, nova launcher etc. i have it set to press for menu and press and hold for recents..... :crying::(

I have got rid of the 3 dot menu bar which is easy(zip file posted). But trying to remap recent apps was a fail. When I try to remap recent to menu it would affect home button not working so in the zip is the file the original file to remap buttons if you want to take a look and see if anyone here can remap recent to menu.

HTC One just features 2 buttons i.e HOME and BACK no MENU key. Obviously menu key is not required by many apps on holo interface it is somewhat useful in certain apps.

Htc one will utilize the home key long press for menu. Initially it will be frustrating but once getting used to it wont make you feel awkward

Multitasking comes by DOUBLE TAPPING the home key.

Hi everyone... I'm loving my new sgs3, I have rooted it and installed CWM but I haven't seen a rom I like yet... this is due to button macros. I was originally A sgs 1 user with the 4 carrier buttons and the drop to 3 is something I'm trying to fix.

Today I bring you the famous mod from CM/AOKP Roms - Long press to kill apps

As Samsung are now using the long press back button to enable/disable the flash bar I had to modify it slightly. Long press MENU button will now kill the app :D

Make a backup Download file and flash in Recovery

In the settings there is a display, gestures and buttons menu now. In it there is a Recent apps button setting. You can pick the recent app button to be the menu button when tapped or to be the menu button when held. AWESOME!!
