The WiMAX Forum has announced plans to bring forward feature upgrades to the mobile WiMAX standard that will improve throughput, particularly at the fringes of cell sites.
The mobile WiMAX base station supplied by Huawei for the vividwireless networks has become one of the first WiMAX products to receive the WiMAX Forum seal of approval for operation with multiple antennas (MIMO) in the 2.3GHz band.
Has anyone ever tried to use a WiMax(4g) USB device with openSuse? I'm just curious and was thinking about getting the U300 device that Sprint and Clear are now selling to poeple in the Dallas area. Its a 3g CDMA/4g WiMax combo.

I pay for Sprint's wifi hotspot feature on my Evo 4g. Im rooted, but can't use tether because my computer is incompatible with tethering.
Im going to be using the hotspot a lot in the near future, so I want a way to track how much data I use thru it. That is the only thing I need to track (3g and wimax 4g hotspot).
Is there any app out there that will do the trick?

But, even as it announced a 94 percent increase in subscribers and 72 percent year-over-year increase in revenue, the service provider signaled a possible migration from WiMAX to the rival LTE (Long Term Evolution) technology....
My understanding is the EVO V 4G will be running on Virgin Mobiles 4G WiMax network..Does this indicate that when I make a call it looks for a WiMax tower or only if I loading data and have my settings to 4G ? I noticed in my settings no 4G service is available ?
