http://crunchbang.org – hello,i'm trying to use a spare mobile phone (nokia) to connect to mobile broadband internet.i tried with bluetooth-applet first but didn't succeed.then i installed blueman. i can connect the phone but then it says that the network manager doesn't recognize the device (these are not the precise words).before i start randomly installing new software i thought i'd rather ask first.the search on this forum didn't give me satisfying results.thanks in advance!d. I have just installed 10.04 LTS on an eeepc.

I have been through a lot of posts and was still unable to connect to the internet using wvdial utility after doing all the changes.:confused:

I am unable to connect mobile internet through LG GS290 phone, phone is detected but could not connect.

Tried to connect via bluetooth and dialup. In both the cases I am able to detect my mobile phone and but when I click on connect tab, it keep trying to connect but after few seconds displayed the "disconnected, you are now off line" message.

Please help me resolve this problem.

In the past, I have used USB and/or built-in wireless broadband devices that the system detected (I assume) and set up the software appropriately at install time.

I have a netbook and after setting everything up, I later added a bluetooth dongle which it uses easily. I was able to connect to my phone without trouble... or at least it appears to.

Hey All, I'm running XUbuntu 12.10 with the stock Network Manager and Blueman. I'm trying to tether over bluetooth to a Nokia C7 (Symbian Phone).

The phone and computer pair perfectly, and I can open a DUN connection to the phone from Blueman, and it will tell me that it has successfully opened a connection on ppp0. However, from there, I can't do anything.

i'm thinking if one can use mobile phones to connect to the internet on a computer(laptop, desktop) then why not use any broadband connection to connect a mobile phone to the internet.

1) is it possible ? 2) if yes, then what do i need to do ? 3) if no, why not ?
