Hi, I need a kick into my backside. I am currently trying to build a package for mjpg-streamer. I decided to have the following layout:
- The executable goes into /usr/bin
- Some modules required by the executable should end up in /usr/share/mjpg-streamer/lib
Hey everyone,
I have been looking all over and cant find a solution to this. I have zoneminder installed and if I record i get stills in the folder. When its set to stream I never get anything in browsers not matter what device I use to view the zoneminder site; localhost/zm.
alien is a program that converts between Red Hat rpm, Debian deb, Stampede slp, Slackware tgz, and Solaris pkg file formats. If you want to use a package from another linux distribution than the one you have installed on your system, you can use alien to convert it to your preferred package format and install it.
Hi all,
So I spent this last weekend trying to install Zoneminder on my home server. It was a pain to install (literally took 12hrs+ debugging), because even after following the directions on the ZM wiki, the service would fail to start. Somehow, by dropping and reloading the zm database (or something), I was able to finally start the zoneminder service.
Install all this software onto you Linux machine. Then run the following to start streaming your webcam as video in real time: mjpg_streamer -i "input_uvc.so -d /dev/video0 -y -r 1600x1200" -o "output_http.so -w /webcam_www -p 8080"

Have searched for this and can't find a solution...
Believe I have screwed my Apache and/or Zoneminder packages, and have looked for a method to force a 'reinstall' of a package (don't want to have to uninstall/reinstall - scared it could get ugly..) but can't find one.
How do I fix a broken package?
Thanks.
I just fixed zoneminder package. I hope everyone can test it and provide feedback. I hope original maintainer can provide patches it is always better to have two maintainers than one .

I've almost got zoneminder working and i'm sure its just a case of changing video permissions!..
I've installed zoneminder on my laptop and also on a server (ubuntu 12.04)...
zoneminder is working fine on the laptop or local host with these video permissions:
crw-rw----+ 1 root video
but on the server which i can't get working yet, video has these permissions:
crw-rw---- 1 root video
