How do you maximize sound volume in Gnome Shell under Ubuntu 11.10?
I have a Macbook, and my sound and volume keys generally work, but even if I use the volume keys to set volume to 100%, the sound is very low. However, if I open the Sound dialog, the "Output Volume" slider goes up to 150%, which allows me to comfortably hear sound.
Did anyone else have to install Volume Control + to adjust the sound so you can hear touch sounds incl. the lock and unlock sounds? I tried unchecking/rechecking the box, etc., and nothing I would do would allow me to hear sounds when I touched. Once I installed the app and cranked up the volume (System volume, I believe?) now I can hear the ticks.
I've been having a problem recently where I haven't been getting any sound alerts for receiving text messages and I finally figured out why: The notifications volume is tied with media volume, which I usually keep muted when I don't have headphones plugged in. Is there any way to change this?
Hi,
I just got an old Trust surround USB Headset to work on Ubuntu 11.10.
However, the volume controls are bugged. Touching a slider in the taskbar or banshee in any way (even sliding it to the lower end) would set the volume to about 5000%. This usually causes me to jank the headset right off my head.
There is no gradient whatsoever in the slider.
Hey all,When i try to adjust the volume, my sound is completely silent until about 3/4 the way through the volume slider. In that upper 1/4 of the volume slider, there is only coarse adjustment from very quiet to max volume.I know it's an arch/linux issue, because it doesn't happen in Windows on the same machine, and it was there before I reinstalled from scratch last week (not for
I have problems with my sound card, an Asus Xonar XD on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. To hear something, i need to set Ubuntu's volume at 100% and speakers volume at 75%.
Ubuntu sound,
alsamixer.
At this moment i can barely hear something with some quality. But then, at the moment when I increased volume, like a 10% more, it sounds distorted.
How can i fix this?
Thx.
I recently got some Power Point slide shows (pps files) that combine picture slides with background music. They open full-screen and play; I can advance the slides and hear the music.
I know these files weren't designed for Libreoffice Impress, but I haven't figured out how to reduce the sound volume. No matter where my volume control is set, the pps plays at maximum volume.
First of all I'm sorry if this has been posted before but I couldn't find any topic on this specific issue after searching around.I got a acer aspire 8730G. It got a few shiny media keys with background light and a volume slider. Setting up most of those keys were no problem since they use the normal XF86Audio keys signals.
I'm currently on Fourth Bar: Revolution rom for the P7510 with Yoda's v2.2 kernel. The problem I'm having is that when I plug headphones in, the volume intensity appears to be maxed and won't change. The volume rocker is working and changes the volume slider on the screen. When just using the speakers everything works fine.
