missing folders in my home directory

http://forums.fedoraforum.org – So I just did a fresh net install of Fedora 18 and Cinnamon. Strange thing I noticed is that the only folder in my home directory (normal user) is Desktop. Note that the download location for Firefox is still "Downloads". Anyone else notice this? (HowTos)

Surf download path 38 weeks 2 days ago

Hello. I need to change surf download path from ~/ to ~/Downloads, for example.

I noticed that most of my photos are missing.... :mad:

So I went into my home folder and clicked File -> Restore Missing Files (I had kept a Deja Dup backup). It came up with a few files, but only ones from the Home directory itself, not the folders inside it. If I open Pictures -> Photos and click Restore Missing Files I get a file (actually a folder) called "2011".

It's usually like this: /home/username/Desktop

Now it thinks Home is desktop and also my user directory is Desktop. Everything I download goes to is saved to the desktop...

I do this on Scientific Linux 6.3 (to implement it, it requires a minimal Linux knowledge):

SHARED DOWNLOADS DIRECTORY

adduser ffuser passwd VERYVERYGOODPWD groupadd ffgroup vi /etc/group # add ffuser and the normal user to the end of the ffgroup line.

I'm a noob to the Linux scene but I'm not dumb when it comes to computers and all that. Im trying to install the drivers for a X-Fi ExtremeGamer sound card but it wont work.

I figured out how to get into the parent directory and i enter this command "make" and i get this in the terminal.

Today I was tweaking a bit around with the settings, I wanted my home directory to be on another partition which I share with Windows, so I went to User/Groups in the menu panel, and set my home to /home/Sirupsen/disk, and in the folder disk I had mounted my "shared" partition.

I have 12.04, the initial user account name is google, then I changed the user name from google to linux.
