Microsoft Office 2013 (formerly Office 15) will offer cloud integration with SkyDrive, and social media integration with Yammer, SharePoint and Skype. CEO Steve Ballmer unveiled an Office 2013 Customer Preview today, positioning it as a “cloud service” best used with Windows 8 on PCs and tablets, including Microsoft’s own Surface tablets.
Apple has started selling the capacious new 128GB iPad, the latest update to its fourth-generation Retina Display-sporting tablet design. The 9.7-inch iPad is pulling away from its 7.9-inch younger sibling, desperately crying out “I’m different!” with a flash storage bump.

Microsoft is expected to unveil Office 15 (perhaps for Windows 8, Windows 7 and Apple iPad) as soon as Monday, July 16. The software company hopes Office 15 and peer product launches like Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012 will lift sales, profits and partner wins to new heights.
The new iPad isn’t even available to the general public yet, but that won’t stop us from thinking about its successor. The new new iPad, or iPad 4, should arrive sometime in 2013 and based on what Apple has — or hasn’t — done already, we can start making predictions on a fourth iteration of the iconic device.
Just as much of a hit the iPad has been in consumer, it’s been almost bigger as an enterprise tool at the highest reaches of business.

Hours before Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) unveiled the iPad Mini today, The Wall Street Journal noted that Apple faces intense competition from Amazon Kindle and numerous Google Android tablets that have seven-inch screens. But The VAR Guy was shocked to see the Journal did not mention Microsoft’s Surface tablet, running Windows 8 or Windows RT, which launches later this week.
