MetroPCS announced today the availability of the Coolpad Quattro 4G – the first phone with Coolpad Americas as a MetroPCS partner. The device is being described by MetroPCS as a “new, affordable” device for “cost-conscious consumers.” The phone’s specs won’t be setting any records, however that’s obviously not the intent here.

About Us

To our Valued MetroPCS Customers:
Today marks an important milestone in MetroPCS history and an exciting, positive step for our company. This morning we announced that MetroPCS has entered into a definitive agreement to combine our business with T-Mobile USA.
This was definitely news that I was surprised waking up to. It appears that T-Mobile USA and MetroPCS are in heavy talks in a merger where T-Mobile will absorb MetroPCS in hopes to compete against Sprint’s #3 spot among US providers. What’s even more surprising is that both T-Mobile and MetroPCS are confirming such talks!

T-Mobile Press Release
As noted here: T-Mobile, MetroPCS Merger Approved: MetroPCS Will Technically Acquire T-Mobile, this is not exactly what yesterday's rumours suggested might come to pass.

There is no flashing metropcs in nyc area,is this true, can anyone verify that?I have a htc evo and I have been trying to flash it to metropcs, and I have been told there is no flashing metropcs in nyc area..and I have been to many metro stores and they wont add or flash my esn...this sucks!!!
Today MetroPCS has refreshed their Samsung Galaxy Admire, adding 4G LTE, a better screen, more processor power, and a bigger battery. It features a 3.65-inch TFT display, 1GHz CPU, and a 3MP camera. For $169 without a contract, though, that’s not too shabby. It does come preloaded with Android 2.3, which is likely to be a deal breaker for some.
Starting tomorrow, MetroPCS will be offering a plan for $30 that includes unlimited voice/text/Data. The first 250 MB will be on 4G and the rest on 3G. Those us of who are on the grandfathered plans, we will never see 4G at Virgin unless we upgrade to a newer plan. Thus this is a great alternative. I am currently using an Optimus Elite that is giving me mostly 2G and no connections.
I have a Droid 3 that was successfully flashed to Metropcs. Everything worked initially except MMS.
The flash was perform by an MetroPCS affiliate store that is more than 40miles from me. I have had to take it that location 3x in the last 5months to have the PRL manually updated.
That is a lot of miles to drive. I want to do this myself.
I bought a sprint htc evo 4gphone that had a bad esn, with the intentions of flashing it metropcs,.I have unlocked/ rooted and put (Red_line _V) rom ,question is im a bit confused with the posts, what do I use or (flash) to put metropcs on it?....i have used both Qpst and cdma...
