My computer was in "sleep" mode when I removed the hard drive for a quick inspection.
I sat the hard drive down and left for a few.
When I came back, I forgot I took the hard drive out and turned on the computer, bringing it from "sleep".
I got buffer errors and location errors.
I tried to put my computer back to sleep, but couldn't so I simply turned it off.

What are the default settings for power management?

I have a problem with my p1000.
I have stock android 2.2 and i have wanted to upgrade to 2.3 so I connected it to Kies via usb cable and hit "update firmware". It said "downloading firmware" on the computer and when it finished it said "uploading firmware to phone". On the phone yellow message appeared that I "should not turn off the target".
sleep is very popular command and we can start sleep from 1 second
# wait one second please
sleep 1
but what the alternative if I need to wait only 0.1 second or between 0.1 to 1 second ?
remark: on linux sleep 0.XXX works fine , but on solaris sleep 0.1 or sleep 0.01 - not illegal syntax

Hello.. I observed that when my laptop's screen goes to sleep after its been inactive for a few minutes (I set it to 5 minutes in the power management gui), the wifi also disconnects. This is a problem if i'm downloading large files.
I am using lucid beta and the laptop is a thinkpad edge amd turion neo x2 version.
I upgraded from 11.2 to 11.3 and works great except two problems.
1. it was installed on Thinkpad W500, and its sleep mode doesn't work, the computer cannot wake up from sleep mode.
Hi all,
Anyone noticing intermittent problems with the screensaver not kicking in or the display not sleeping? This is in gnome under F11.
I have the Power Management Preferences set to put the display to sleep after 30 minutes of inactivity and gnome screensaver is configured for 5 minutes idle time.
Mac OS X Mountain Lion does not have a Web Sharing box in the Sharing system prefs menu. It is thoroughly discussed on the web that the Apache server is available, and that it can be turned on manually in the command line, or by using a convenient Prefs Pane. That works while the computer is awake.
