Earlier today the President of India announced the government-subsidized Aakash 2 tablet, a follow up to the country’s unsuccessful original Aakash tablet that was announced a couple of years ago.
An Indian company called Karbonn Mobiles has introduced a 7-inch Android tablet named the Smart Tab 1 sporting Jelly Bean 4.1, and it’ll only cost the equivalent of US $150. There are a long line of catches though, which will probably mean this isn’t going to be your next tablet. Read on for more.

Yes, you read that correctly. The device dubbed, Ubislate 7ci, rocks a 7″ screen, runs on Ice Cream Sandwich, and one version is WiFi only while another is a data version. It’s manufactured by the Canadian company Datawind which dabbled in low-cost devices in the past but never really caught on in the U.S. due to its slow data speeds.

I'm wondering if there is anyway to be able to connected my Samsung 7.7 tablet to my laptop via a USB cable and let the tablet have access to the internet via the laptop? I can't always connect to wifi networks and I wondered it this is possible at all.

As I have not yet encoutered this app, I have this idea to develop an app that makes it possible to link your (at this moment, only windows phones) phone over the internet or bluetooth to your (at this moment, agai, only android tablets) tablet and open and send messages from your tablet.

ASUS has had no problems hitting cheap price points on their tablets without sacrificing specs. They recently launched the MeMO Pad, and at $149, it’s an extremely high quality tablet. I am using my personal computer at work, and am connected to the company's internet service by wire (LAN i think). I use a wifi hotspot application on my laptop to create a wifi hotspot, so that i can use my tablet to connect to the internet via the laptop wifi.
