Recently I bought the Medion Akoya P2214T Hybrid Notebook/Tablet from Aldi. It comes with 64 bit Windows 8.1 Upgrade already installed. Software one Windows tech writer recently described as 'the worst operating system ever'. The sales and activation statistics would seem to bare that out.
The other day I bought a Medion Akoya P2214T Hybred LapTop from Aldi. It presently runs Windows 8.1. I want to run 64 bit Ubuntu 14.04 in the machine. To that end I installed Ubuntu onto a USB stick and did a live install to try it out on the Medion. It all worked well except Ubuntu couldn't find the DockingStation Keyboard.
The title says all
I have a netbook Medion Akoya E1222
I tried U/X/Lubuntu 10.10, 11.10, 12.10

The only kernel working regar
I am trying to get multitouch to work in Ubuntu 14.10 for my Medion Akoya P2214T (MD 99430) laptop/tablet hybrid. Ideally I would like to get it to work on both the touch screen and the touchpad, but the latter is the important one right now. I'm having some trouble identifying the touchpad as well. The drivers that came installed in Windows are for an ELAN Smart-pad.
Ive been trying to get ubuntu working on a new akoya p2214t but for various reasons its just not happening and im desperate for help now.
The first install i done i butchered the pre installed win8 and after i was done installing, which while rediculously slow seemed to have worked, ubuntu would not boot and there was no option to boot from the uefi.
I use a MEDION AKOYA Laptop. With Ubuntu 12.10 and my Soundcard is ALC663 My problem is following: If I plug my earphones in the front pannel (3.5 mm) they are shown as Line In and I do not get any sound out of them. So my ubuntu thinks that my earphones are a microphone. The mean thing is, when I plug my microphone in it is also shown as Line In and it works well.
