I have been trying for a week to get a DLNA/UPnP Media Servers to work properly on my headless Ubuntu server. I started with minidlna and PS3 Media Server, but had trouble configuring them and could not get either one to transcode files so they could be viewed with a Sony Blu-Ray player (BVD-E770W).
Well, there are a few threads here, started by me, that relate to digital media, pictures and video and how others manage that media in terms of storage, archiving and the ability of anyone in the household to easily view this media on demand.
