The first point release of the XBMC Media Center 12 application for Linux, Mac OS X, Windows and Android platforms has been announced last evening, March 18, 2013. With version 12.1, XBMC Media Center no longer hogs audio on the Linux platform, and on resume, audio will continue to work.

I'm running XBMC-live which is an Ubuntu distro with Xbox media center (XBMC) as the default window manager. I'm trying to leave XBMC set up on tty7, as it is, and have a normal window manager on added for tty8, so I can use a web browser and stuff.

After doing the update, I am now having problems launching the app. I uninstalled it in the software center, rebooted and the app is still located under applications. I then went into the terminal and used the command - sudo apt-get purge xbmc xbmc-standalone then put in my password, then a few moments later it looked like it was finished.
